At Triguna Country Homes, we recently had the pleasure of hosting a memorable field trip for the students of Gurukulam School. This special event aimed to immerse young minds in the beauty and tranquility of nature, offering them a unique opportunity to learn and grow outside the traditional classroom setting. As part of our commitment to promoting educational experiences that foster a deeper connection with the environment, this field trip was designed to inspire and educate children in a hands-on, engaging way.
Children Connecting with Nature
The field trip for Gurukulam School’s preschoolers was a delightful adventure into nature. Stepping away from their routine, the children explored the natural world up close, making their learning experience both fun and memorable. They enjoyed nature walks, interacted with their teachers, and observed local plants and animals.
Highlights of the trip included playing under a giant 100-year-old banyan tree, which gave them a sense of wonder and connection to nature. They spotted birds they had only seen in books and were thrilled to see them in real life. The kids also enjoyed playing around a large 7-acre natural lake, breathing in fresh air, and soaking up the beauty of the outdoors.
This hands-on experience allowed the young students to apply their classroom knowledge in a real-world context, deepening their understanding and appreciation of nature beyond what they learn from books. It was a perfect way for their curious minds to see and experience the natural world firsthand.
“The field trip to Triguna Country Homes was a joyful experience for us. It was wonderful to host the preschoolers as they explored our community, discovering the trees, birds, and natural surroundings up close. Seeing their excitement was truly rewarding. We’re honored to have been part of their learning journey.” —Sachin Kumar Bankapur, Director, Triguna Country Homes
Importance of Nature-Based Learning in Modern Education
In a technology-driven world, incorporating nature-based learning into education is crucial. Research shows that connecting with nature benefits children by enhancing cognitive function, creativity, and mental health. It promotes critical thinking, environmental responsibility, and physical activity.
“The field trip to Triguna Country Homes was a valuable experience for our students, highlighting the need for more nature-based learning in today’s digital world. In an age where children are often confined to screens and urban spaces, these trips offer essential exposure to the natural environment. Integrating such experiences into the curriculum helps balance their education and fosters a deeper connection with nature.” – Punitha, Principal, Gurukulam School
The event at Triguna Country Homes was more than just an outing; it was a chance for young minds to experience and appreciate nature firsthand. This immersive experience not only inspired a love for the environment but also supported the development of well-rounded individuals who value and protect our planet.
We extend our thanks to Gurukulam School for the collaboration and to the students for their enthusiastic participation. This event reinforced our commitment to fostering a love for nature, and we look forward to hosting more events that offer young minds—and those who have long forgotten the joy of connecting with nature—valuable insights into the natural world.
